Dr Jamie Mackee is Head of Discipline for Construction Management at the University of Newcastle and a Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Built Environment Research (CIBER) within the School of Architecture and Built Environment. His primary research focuses on Cultural Built Heritage theory that explores new approaches to conservation in the context of human generated and natural hazards.

He has researched extensively in Asia where he taught in Universities and worked in private practice. He worked on Tsunami relief in Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami sourcing funding for and constructing health facilitates in response to the devastation. He acts as a peer reviewer for numerous academic journals and is involved in several international research networks.
